Women's Soccer Places Four on All-Landmark Teams

Drew women's soccer had four Rangers named to the All-Landmark Conference teams following their successful 2009 season.  Seniors Kim Miranowic and Alyssa Goodman and sophomore Emily Weida each earned All-Landmark First Team honors.  Sophomore Christine Meconi represented the Rangers on the Second Team.  The Rangers tied for first place in the Landmark Conference's Regular Season with a 4-1-1 record.

Alyssa Goodman earned First Team honors for the second time in her career, though her firstGoodman2 time as a midfielder.  The senior moved from forward to outside midfielder during the season to provide unrelenting hustle and incisive dribbling from the wing.  She ranked sixth in the Landmark in points (15), fourth in goals (7) and second in game winning goals (3) in all games.  She also ranked in the Top 10 in points and goals in Landmark Conference play.  Also a First Team selection in '07, Goodman played in 71 games in her Drew career while scoring 24 goals.  The Neuroscience major ranks in Drew's Career Top Ten in goals (7th, 24) and points (7th, 56).

Kim Miranowic earned First Team honors following another strong season in central defense.  EmilyWeida1Outside of the first Landmark game of the season, the Rangers allowed just two goals in conference play, thanks in large part to Miranowic's partnership with Allison McCord.  The senior was a threat to score on every set piece as she tallied a goal and assisted on two others while hitting woodwork on at least five other occasions.  A Second Team All-Landmark selection last year, Miranowic started all 57 games since joining the Rangers as a sophomore in 2007.

Emily Weida was the third Ranger named to the First Team.  The sophomore ranked second on the team in goals with six and tied Goodman for the team lead in points with 15.  With three goals and two assists in conference play, the forward ranked in the Landmark's Top Five in goals, assists and points.  She was named the Landmark's Offensive Player of the Week in October.  For her short career, Weida has 11 goals and five assists.

Christine Meconi represents the Rangers on the Second Team.  The sophomore played mostly midfield before moving to forwardMeconi2 during the Landmark campaign.  Meconi had the best match of any Landmark player this season with her game winning performance against Juniata.  The Brooklyn, NY native scored three times and assisted on the fourth in Drew 's 4-1 win over the Eagles.  The hat trick earned not only Landmark Player of the Week accolades, but ECAC Regional Player of the Week honors as well.  She followed that breakout performance with a goal against Catholic that earned a point and then a two-goal haul against FDU in late October.

Moravian College topped the All-Conference voting with five selections, but four other teams earned four selections. All seven Landmark teams placed at least one player on the team. Champion The Catholic University of America came home with two of the major individual awards as senior defender Helene Nicoletti was voted the Defensive Player of the Year and freshman Courtey Orgill was picked as the Landmark Rookie of the Year. Scranon midfielder Chelsea Paskman was voted the Offensive Player of the Year, which comes two years after she earned Landmark Rookie of the Year honors. Susquehanna Head Coach Kathy Kroupa and her staff were selected as the Coaching Staff of the Year.
