
Drew women’s swimming held onto fifth place thanks to an impressive display by its underclasses at the Landmark Conference Championships. Over the whole weekend, including prelims and finals, Ranger swimmer set 64 personal bests. Scranton’s women’s team won the event by lap, 667 points to Susquehanna’s 357. USMMA won the men’s title while Drew finished in sixth place.
On Sunday, Jereon Fabricant placed seventh in the men’s 1650 with a 18:26.70 for the men’s best finish.
Marissa Kraynak placed in the Top Ten in the 1650 with a 20:45.92 finish, beating her personal best by thirty seconds and moving into seventh place in Ranger history. Alexssa Todd placed 10th overall in the 100 Free with a 57.87, the best time for a Ranger this season and the eight best time in Ranger history. Jasmine Prokscha took her second Top Ten finish by winning three points in the 200 Breaststroke in 2:48.48, again the best time by a Ranger this season and good for eighth all-time at Drew. Sofia Quintanar took 12th in the same event. Selena Davis grabbed a pair of points by finishing 11th in the 200 Backstroke.
In all, the Ranger women had nine Top 10 finishes, eight of which came from first-years or sophomores. Junior Selena Davis won the Rangers’ other big points in an encouraging sign for next season as a ll the point winners will return.
