Susquehanna University's freshman guard/forward Harvey Pannell (Bloomfield, Conn./St. Thomas More) recorded his third double-double of the season to help lead Susquehanna past visiting Drew University, 74-62, in a Landmark Conference men's basketball game on Pepsi Day 2010 at Orlando W. Houts Gymnasium on Feb. 6.

Pannell led all players with 12 rebounds, scored 13 points and handed out a pair of assists for SU (13-9, 6-5 Landmark). Teammate and senior forward Marcus Burke (Hyde Park, Mass./Brimmer and May) scored a game-high 19 points against Drew (7-15, 3-8 Landmark) on 8-for-11 field-goal shooting despite playing limited time because of four fouls. Burke also had two rebounds and a game-high-tying two steals. Pannell played with four fouls as well.

Susquehanna trailed, 27-25, with under five minutes to play in the first half until senior guard Bryan Majors (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) hit a three-pointer to give the Crusaders the lead for good with 4 minutes, 44 seconds left until intermission.

SU used a 25-2 run to finish the first half with a 39-27 lead, including the last 17 points of the period.

The Rangers did manage to get the game to within six points at 63-57 with 5:16 left in the game. The Crusaders responded by lifting Burke off the bench, which sparked an 11-5 spurt to ice it. Burke scored an important six points in a 3:14 span down the stretch.

Majors finished with nine points on a game-high-tying three three-pointers and had three assists and two boards. Teammate and junior guard Rob Estep (York, Pa./West York) added 15 points, five rebounds and two steals. Sophomore center Trevor Williamson (McEwensville, Pa./Warrior Run) recorded 10 points, five boards and two steals in just 18 minutes off the bench. Freshman guard Brendan Rezny (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) played a season-high 28 minutes and tallied four boards and a game-high six assists

Sophomore guard Terrell Brown (Camden, N.J./Woodrow Wilson) led the Rangers with a double-double of 16 points and 10 boards. Junior guard Mike Mayes (Linden, N.J./Saint Mary HS) and sophomore forward McNeil Wrice (Riverside, N.J./Riverside) both chipped in 11 points. Mayes added four rebounds and a team-high five assists, while Wrice had three rebounds and a game-high-tying two blocked shots.

Freshman center Lucas Levenson (Margate, N.J./Atlantic City) blocked two shots as well and collected four points and two rebounds. Junior forward Kyle Joyce (Hanover, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) tied Majors with three three-pointers as part of a nine-point effort.

The Susquehanna defense turned 16 turnovers into 26 points and held a 22-8 advantage in second-chance scoring.

The Rangers conference action continues this Friday at Baldwin Gym in Madison, against the Catholic University Cardinals, 7:30pm.
