Box Score
TOWSON, Md. (February 12, 2011) - The Rangers picked up their 10th win of the season with a 64-58 win over Goucher this evening. Drew (10-14, 3-10 Landmark) got revenge for a loss earlier in the season at Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers balanced scoring attack led by senior
Jess Reid (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) opened up a huge second half lead that the Gophers could not recover from. Reid had her season-high 14 points and was one rebound shy of her fourth double-double of the year.
Goucher (3-19, 3-10 Landmark) kept pace with the Rangers for the opening 10 minutes of the contest. The Gophers controlled the lead for the opening three minutes of the game but that would be their only time with lead for the entire game. Drew would capture the momentum of the game in the final minutes of the first half. The Rangers would score the last seven points of the frame to open up a 30-20 halftime lead.
Over the first five minutes of the second half the Rangers would put the game away with a 13-2 run and never looked back. Drew went on to control the glass out-rebounding the Gophers 45-34 and held Goucher to only 25 percent shooting for the game.
Danielle Barber (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Twp) was one of three players in double figures for the Rangers. The junior tallied 12 points going 3-of-8 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
#Victoria Ault (Middletown, N.J./Mater Dei) rounded out the scoring adding 11 points while pulling down a team-high nine rebounds.
The Rangers will close out the 2010-11 season next weekend when they visit Merchant Marine on Saturday evening. The women will lead off the final Landmark Conference doubleheader of the year at 5:30 in Kings Point, N.Y.
