Drew Athletics Raises Money For 9/11 Fund

MADISON, N.J. (September 12, 2011) - Last weekend the Rangers accepted donations during the Women's Soccer Fall Fest to benefit Camp Better Days, a foundation that supports those who lost a loved one in the attacks on September 11, 2001.

The Better Days Foundation, based in nearby Denville, N.J., provides victims' families with support over the past eight years through a variety of fun and healing programs. Created in April of 2003, The Better Days Foundation has worked hard to provide families with ongoing support. Camp Better Days is run by certified teachers, licensed therapists, and camp staff who have years of experience working with children.

Over the two day span, the Ranger Athletic Department collected donations from fans that attended any of the four games that took place at Ranger Stadium this past weekend. In addition, the Drew Athletic Department donated a portion of ticket sales from the two-day tournament to the foundation.

"When sitting down and planning for the weekend with our marketing and sports information staff, we tried to brainstorm how the Drew athletic community can contribute," said Assistant Athletic Director, George Rodriguez. "With some research, we found Camp Better Days and it was an easy decision with the great things the foundation does with those who were impacted by the attacks 10 years ago."

Prior to both games on Sunday, a moment of silence was observed along with the American flag at half staff for the entire afternoon.
