Barber, Ault Among Landmark’s Elite

MADISON, N.J. (February 23, 2012) – For the third consecutive season, senior Danielle Barber (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Twp.) was an All- Conference selection. She was joined by her teammate Victoria Ault (Middletown, N.J/Mater Dei) who was a Second Team All-Conference honoree.

For the first time since the 2006-07 season and the third time in school history the Rangers had two player recognized by the conference.

Barber capped her career off by climbing higher and higher in the school record books. On November 20th she became the 10th player in school history to score 1,000 points. By the end of the year she moved all the way up to fourth all-time with 1,366 points. Already owning the school record in assists in a year, Barber moved into second place all-time with 463 assists, four shy of the long-standing school mark. She finished fourth in steals and eighth in career scoring average.

The career numbers were not all Barber accomplished in 2011-12, as she once again proved to be one of the top guards in the Landmark Conference. She went on to lead the league in scoring with 16.2 points per game, assists with a total of 119, 3-point field goals made with 62 and steals with 74. Three of her four seasons at Drew she has led the Rangers in scoring and assists.

Ault had a breakout year for the Rangers in her final season in Madison. The senior forward was a rebounding machine, finishing sixth in the conference with 7.8 rebounds per game. Twice this season she pulled down 20 or more rebounds in a game. At home against Goucher on January 20th she was four rebounds shy of the school record with 22 boards to go along with 18 points. She averaged a career-high 11 points per game, ranking her eighth among Landmark scorers.
