Field Hockey Unveils 2012 Schedule

MADISON, N.J. (July 18, 2012) – With a successful 2011 season in the books, the Drew University field hockey team has announced its schedule for the 2012 season today. The Rangers marched all the way to their first Landmark Conference Championship game last season after its third-straight season with 12 or more wins.

Drew will open up their season against Mercy College on September 1st when they host the 29th Annual Fall Festival Tournament. Also featured in this year's tournament will be Swarthmore College and Sunday afternoon's opponent, Cabrini. The Rangers are seeking their 20th Fall Festival title, with their last one coming in 2009.

In the rest of their non-conference schedule the Rangers will play four new teams this season including Lebanon Valley College who ranked 16th in the final Kookaburra / NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll last season. Other new opponents this season include former Middle Atlantic Conference foe, King's College, Ramapo and Steven's Institute.

The Rangers matched their best Landmark Conference regular season record in four seasons after going 4-2 in league play last season. The Rangers will conclude the 2012 regular season in Washington, D.C. against defending Landmark champion and last year's #9 ranked team in the country, Catholic University.
