MADISON, N.J. (April 14, 2014) – The Drew University men's and women's lacrosse team hosted Jersey City Lacrosse at Ranger Stadium on Saturday, April 12.

The women's team attended the Drew men's lacrosse game with the Jersey City youths, who were treated to a 10-7 Ranger victory over visiting The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action.

Head coach Julia Steier planned the event months in advance with Jersey City Lacrosse founder Emily Litman, a 1999 Drew University graduate.

The Rangers answered the children's lacrosse questions during the game as they cheered on Drew to a home win. The Jersey City Lacrosse players especially were fond of senior goalkeeper Kyle Mariboe's saves in net and flawlessly executed crease rolls by senior attacker Mike Marone.

After the game, head men's lacrosse coach Thomas Leanos and a few Ranger players spoke with the kids and even passed out a back up stick to one lucky Jersey City player.

The women then took on the children in a friendly 4 vs. 4 game on the Ranger Stadium turf and worked on individual drills.

Jersey City Lacrosse, of course, also fell in love with Bodie, the Rangers' official canine mascot who never misses a game or practice.
