MADISON, N.J. (June 25, 2014) – Drew University head women's basketball coach
Brittany Gaetano, along with rising senior guard
Breana Wilson, cooled off on a hot and humid Thursday afternoon by participating in the #Chillin4Charity cold water challenge in front of Mead Hall to help raise money for breast cancer research.
#Chillin4Charity was started by University of Arizona Head Coach Niya Butts to combine viral videos and raising money for charity, in this case, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Read more about Coach Butts here. The challenge is as follows – once a coach is called out, he/she has 48 hours to respond to the challenge. If they respond, the person who challenged them will donate $50 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. If a coach doesn't accept the challenge, then it is that coach's responsibility to donate $250 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Once the challenge is accepted, the coach will announce who they challenge and then be showered with a cooler full of ice water to finish.
Coach Gaetano was challenged by fellow Landmark Conference coach Didi Cotton from Goucher College,
who took the challenge on Tuesday. Gaetano has challenged Mike Strong from The University of Scranton, Tara Ruckh from SUNY-Potsdam and Allison Kern from Misericordia University.
Wilson was not challenged, but started a string of challenges by calling out players on Thursday before her ice bath. She challenged the Dayon Twins from NCAA Division III National Champions FDU-Florham, Kyra and Kara, and Meredith Mesaris from The University of Scranton.
