Sign up for the 2nd Annual Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival

MADISON, N.J. (July 2, 2015) – One of the many benefits of organized athletics is the ability to bring people together in the wake of an unspeakable tragedy and kick-start the healing process through the shared love of a game.

Drew University men's lacrosse junior captain Rich Shahpazian is organizing the 2nd Annual Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival in memory of Brendan Tevlin, a young man who tragically lost his life on June 25, 2014. Held on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Seton Hall Prep's Kelly Athletic Complex, the festival serves as both a fundraiser for the Brendan Patrick Tevlin Memorial Fund and an outlet for the community to honor and remember an amazing son, brother, friend and person.

"The night before Brendan passed, he suggested we get a pick-up lacrosse game going," Shahpazian said. "Last year was not only a huge success in raising money, but more importantly it was a great day of fun in remembrance of such a special person who made a positive impact on every person he encountered."

So far, 39 lacrosse players – including six Rangers – have signed up for the exhibition game, which begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Kelly Athletic Complex. The festival also includes a BBQ, raffles, and a fastest shot booth.

The Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival is open to everyone. More information can be found HERE. Contact Rich Shahpazian at rshahpazian@drew.edu with questions about the event or to donate money or food for the festival.
