Season Preview: Women's Volleyball

The Drew University women's volleyball team competes in its inaugural season this year under the direction of Head Coach Alyssa Broccoli

Fifteen players hailing from five different states will lead the Rangers in their historic campaign. The young squad will feature 13 freshmen, one sophomore, and one senior.

"With it being our inaugural season, my expectation for our squad is to set a solid foundation for our program by working hard and competing at a high level every day, whether that's in matches, practice or in the classroom," said Broccoli.

"Although we are young and haven't been playing together long, our squad is gritty, crafty, and hardworking," continued Broccoli. "We also know how to have fun, so everyone can expect to see us with high energy and having a good time."

Drew kicks off the year on Sept. 1, when it hosts Bard at 7 p.m. in a non-conference tilt. The Rangers will play their first two Landmark Conference matches on Saturday, Oct. 2 with a tri-match versus Susquehanna University and host Juniata College.

"Our team's key to success is sticking together and playing for each other," said Broccoli. "There's no doubt that this season will be extremely challenging but if we put the team first, stick together through adversity and play for one another, success will naturally come our way."
