Saturday Recap

HUMMELS WHARF, Pa. –
Drew University's Marissa Broderick (Bayonne, N.J.) is the inaugural Landmark Conference women's golf champion.  Broderick, who was tied for the lead after round one, ended up with a two-day score of 170 to finish two shots ahead of teammate Lucy Lamb (Palo Alto, Calif.) and claim the conference's first-ever individual title.  As a team, Drew placed second overall, shooting a combined 798 for 36 holes at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

The Rangers held the overnight lead, but Marywood posted a combined score of 390 on Saturday to earn the team title.  The Pacers' two-day total of 787 was good for an 11-stroke victory over Drew.

Broderick and Lamb each carded an 84 on Saturday to share the individual lead after 18 holes.  They had the two best scores on Sunday, as well, with Broderick shooting an 86 and Lamb an 88.  That two-stroke difference gave Broderick the individual crown, while Lamb's 172 was good for second place.

Kristine Masseria (Staten Island, N.Y.) gave Drew three golfers in the top seven.  She shot a 100 on Sunday for a two-day score of 194.  Kristen Bubrowiecki (Manalapan, N.J.), meanwhile, carded a second-round 137 to earn a 20th-place finish overall.  Her combined total was 262 for the tournament.

While this marked the end of the season for the women's squad, the Drew men's team will be in action next weekend at the inaugural Landmark Men's Championships, which will be held at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa.
